It’s an arduous task to create a golf course out of a working ski hill. I learned to ski on Mount Brighton as a young lad, so I found myself thinking back to when I tried to impress a couple of cute girls with my wicked snow plow ability. When Jimbo told me about a sweet deal at the Jackal at Mt. Brighton, I was eager for the experience. I had always wanted to play there, but just hadn’t done it yet. When we arrived on a cooler day, the 7th anniversary of 9/11, there were a lot of cars in the parking lot. A giant United States flag was very moving from my view on the course throughout the morning.

Maneuver your way up the hill to start the round from an elevated tee to a dogleg left fairway. Feel free to inspect the lift house, chair lifts, and the snow making machines if you are waiting on a twosome in front of you (which of course I did). |

Accuracy is key because you will need to carry two sets of wetlands. |

Ahoy Matey! Water plays into every shot on this hole. The peninsula green is flat and fair. |

Nice drive across the bridge to this downhill par 3. The green is quick and loaded with subtle movement. |

Literally plays up a green run. If you played it like it is 50 yards longer, you will make par and be the envy of your group. |

Teeing off the side of the hill to a generous landing area. Fire away! |

Much like the 1st hole, it plays severely downhill. We had some nice plugs with our mile-high shots. |

To get to the tee box, we climbed a green run that I cut my teeth on 22 years ago. |

Further up the mountain for this enjoyable par 3. Don't go long or you will be wet! |

Water, water, water& don't get nervous because there is plenty on this par 4. |

Not represented by the handicap, but this hole gave our group fits. |

Short par 3 with a tricky green. Make sure to fire at the pin or you will be 3 putting. |

Nice ending water hole, unless you are a notorious right-handed hooker. |
| There are some truly scenic holes on this course and everyone had a great time. We had some cart issues, which were more humorous than troublesome. Because the staff was so great about replacing them on the fly, it only added to the enjoyment of the round. |

| Cheerful and jovial in the pro shop and the food lounge employees were nice enough. The real star was the guy who rescued us on the course- two separate times. |

| Hitting balls up the mountain at the driving range seems to me a bit backwards- not really helpful for your self-esteem. The pro shop was small but nice inside. |

| Well designed by Bruce Matthews- one of my favorites. There are times you actually forget you are playing golf on a ski hill, a true accomplishment. |

| Great course that has some very challenging and entertaining holes due to the elevation changes. |
