Nestled off the dirt road part of 7 mile in Northville, this course offers seclusion from the city. Downing Farms is not your typical Ma and Pa course. Some holes are more challenging than holes you see on championship courses. Some of the fairways are very narrow and the greens are small and undulating. I have played this course for years and always have fun. I have taken golfers of all still levels and I have never seen anyone play lights out or walk away wanting to quit the game. I think that says something.
I organized a golf outing here and found it to be a perfect spot for that format. Mix the good golfers with the bad, load up a cooler and send them off for a few hours of fun. The back 9 is a unique mix of a blind shots (including a par 3!) and target practice fairways. There are no par 5s on the back. This par 69 course will really allow you to try some new shots.

Everyone is always in a good mood and polite. They take a great deal of pride in their course and it shows.

No driving range, but the putting green is large and indicative of the speed of the greens you will play. The pro shop/clubhouse isn't large, but they have great hot dogs and having a drink in the clubhouse after the round is always a good time.

Well-groomed and cared for. The course is not your typical golf course. This makes playing a round at Downing Farms a fun alternative to other courses.

There are all types of golf courses. True golfers can find excitement while playing a championship course or at a farm course like this. I have always had a great time here and look forward to playing it soon.
